作为自然语言处理工具,ChatGPT以其卓越性能引发全球关注,但在教育领域其实际应用仍然存在一定的争议。在二语教育领域,ChatGPT虽然已经成为研究热点,但现有研究多聚焦理论层面,从教师视角出发的实证研究尚显不足。研究采用现象学方法,通过对30名高校二语教师的半结构化访谈,剖析ChatGPT在二语学习、教学、评估及研究中的潜力与可能存在的问题。研究发现,ChatGPT在提升学习者自主性、减轻教师工作负担、优化评估体系及辅助学术研究等方面展现出显著优势,但也对学习者批判性思维、教师教学创新、二语评估效度及学术诚信等方面提出新的挑战。
Abstract:As a natural language processing tool, ChatGPT has gained global attention for its exceptional performance, yet its practical application in the educational field remains contentious. In the domain of L2 education, although ChatGPT has become a research hotspot, existing studies predominantly focus on theoretical aspects, with a noticeable shortage of empirical research from the perspective of teachers.This study employs a phenomenological approach, conducting semi-structured interviews with 30 L2 teachers from universities to examine the potential and possible issues associated with ChatGPT in L2 learning, teaching, assessment, and research. The findings reveal that ChatGPT demonstrates significant advantages in enhancing learner autonomy, reducing teachers' workload, optimizing assessment systems,and supporting academic research. However, it also poses new challenges to learners' critical thinking,teachers' pedagogical innovation, the validity of L2 assessment, and academic integrity.
